After four and a half months of living about a mile away, we are finally back at our beloved farm! We returned the third week in March and couldn't be happier! The greenhouse is up and running and the parsley and corno di toro peppers are in it, transplanted into larger pots yesterday. By the end of this weekend the tomatoes, eggplant, oregano, jalapenos, and lettuce should all be up and in the green house.
Our hens are laying four dozen eggs a day. While we were gone, we reduced the egg price to $5 a dozen, but on April 1, they are going to be $6 a dozen again.
Our four ewes are hard to recognize as they have their full winter wool coats on. We've contacted our sheep shearer and they should be sheared in about a month.
Our onion starts should arrive some time next week. The Christmas Tree seedlings arrive the following week. The pigs arrive the last week in April, followed by this year's laying hens, and then finally the first set of meat chickens in the end of May.
And so the summer begins. We look forward to seeing you again!!!
